Gold Plated &
Gold Vermeil Jewellery

All our pieces are plated with high quality real 14k or 18k gold, making them hypoallergenic and tarnish resistant. However, lack of proper care may cause the plating to fade over time, exposing the 925 sterling silver base metal.

All our pieces are plated with high quality real 14k or 18k gold, making them hypoallergenic and tarnish resistant. However, lack of proper care may cause the plating to fade over time, exposing the 925 sterling silver base metal.

  • Wearing

  • Remove jewellery during physical activities (exercise, swimming, yoga, hiking, cycling, etc.)
  • Regular (non-excessive) sweat is not a cause for concern, but it is best to clean and dry your piece as soon as possible.
  • Remove jewellery when using chemicals (shampoos, harsh soaps, perfumes, lotions, hairsprays, etc.)
  • While all our pieces are waterproof, it is recommended to pat them dry as soon as possible with a soft cloth.
  • Remove jewellery before bed to avoid excessive friction with the gold plating.

  • Cleaning

  • After each use, clean your jewellery with a soft microfiber cloth to remove dust and dirt and restore its shine. Avoid using silver polishing cloths as they may wear down the gold layer.
  • When needed, you may soak your jewellery in warm soapy water for a few minutes, and gently rub it with a soft microfiber cloth. Pat to dry. Avoid jewellery cleaners and antibacterial soaps.
  • Avoid using ultrasonic cleaners as they may compromise the integrity of the gold plating and damage any gemstones.

  • Storing

  • Store your jewellery in a dry, air-tight area (e.g. zip-lock bag). You may choose to include a desiccant packet together with your jewellery especially in humid climates.
  • Avoid storing your jewellery in areas where they are exposed to sunlight, humidity (e.g. bathrooms), and harsh temperatures.
  • Love and wear your jewellery often, it will reduce the likelihood of it oxidising and tarnishing.

Silk Pillowcase
& Silk Sleep Mask

There is no need to wash your Tender Objects Silk Sleep Mask after every time you use them. But as your facial oils may transfer onto the sleep mask overtime, we do recommend that you wash them when you feel necessary.

For your Silk Pillowcases, you're free to wash them whenever you deem suitable.

Washing

  • Hand wash your pillowcase / sleep mask in cold water with a pH neutral liquid detergent.
  • Immerse the pillowcase / sleep mask for just a few minutes in cold, soapy water.
  • Do not wring, twist, or scrub the pillowcase / sleep mask.
  • Remove stains by gently massaging liquid detergent directly on the spot with your fingers.
  • Rinse first in cold water.
  • If you find that your silk pillowcase / sleep mask is losing its lustre, you may then rinse it a second time, by adding a spoonful of distilled white vinegar to one litre of water to remove alkaline residues and keep the sheen.
  • Finally, rinse again in cold water.
  • Do not bleach.

Drying

  • Lay the pillowcase / sleep mask on a flat surface, and place a clean dry towel over it to absorb the excess moisture.
  • At the point, you may reshape the sleep mask if necessary, but be careful not to compress the silk stuffing.
  • Dry flat or hang to dry, avoiding direct sunlight.
  • Do not tumble dry.

Ironing

  • If you find that your silk pillowcase is no longer as smooth as it used to be after washing, we highly recommend ironing it to restore its shine and smoothness.
  • The pillowcase / sleep mask may be ironed while still lightly damp using an iron on a low temperature setting appropriate for silk.
  • You can also iron through a damp cotton cloth or use the steam setting.
  • However, be careful to avoid applying pressure while ironing, as this will compress the silk stuffing of the sleep mask.

  • Avoid stretching and pulling the scrunchie, as may cause the elastic to loosen quicker.
  • Do not bleach.

Drying

  • Holding the scrunchie over the sink, allow the excess water to drip off.
  • Wrap your scrunchie in a clean dry towel, and gently squeeze out the excess water.
  • Allow it to air-dry, avoiding direct sunlight. Do not tumble dry.
